On Saturday 9 June from 2pm I will be holding a ‘Worldwide Knit in Public Day’ see http://www.wwkipday.com/ & ‘International Yarnbombing Day’ http://yarnbombing.com/ on the banks of the River Welland in Spalding, Lincs.
This is an unofficial, informal meeting of anyone keen to use the traditional skills of knit/crochet to help raise the profile of the value of traditional crafts; showcase their work in the public realm; pass on their skills to others; show how a traditional craft can have sustainability and decorate/regenerate a cold, sterile area into a warm, tactile, vibrant one!
We will be sitting on the grass but please bring a garden chair if you need one plus water/flask and a snack to keep you going plus needles, hooks and yarn of course!
This event may be filmed, an area will be set aside for those not wishing to be involved.
See you there! x
